About me

I have been interested in painting and drawing for most
of my life but had little time to take it seriously until
about five years ago. My ‘training’ comes from a
mixture of residential, evening classes and workshops,
and of course, practice.

I am a Member of the Warsash and District Art Group,
the Bishops Waltham Life Drawing Group, the Marwell
International Wildlife Art Society and the Whiteley Art
Society.

I paint and draw using most materials, and in a variety
of subjects. I have not tried to develop a particular
style as I am experimenting all of the time. The
subjects that I choose have to interest me, but I like
the viewer to be able to investigate or even complete
the picture in their mind’s eye. I try to create a mood
or action. My particular passion is in drawing and
painting animals, birds and people. I have run a
number of workshops and tutorials and currently teach
life drawing at Brown’s Fine Art Studio in the Locks
Heath Centre.

I am lucky to have the opportunity to paint, draw and
teach with some great models, both draped and
undraped. They are lovely people and I appreciate their
professionalism and patience in holding some very
challenging and tiring poses.

You are invited to visit my website and view samples of
my work. I hope that my pictures bring pleasure to the
viewer.
